People Reaching People for Christ
Requests for Love Offering (February 2013)
Canton Baptist Church already has a Benevolence Committee in place
to meet the needs of both members and non-members. There is
a set amount of assistance the Committee is allowed to approve for
an individual each year. Should someone have needs that
exceed the set annual amount, then a love offering can be requested.
If there is a need for a love offering to be taken, then the individual
seeking assistance must attend a regularly scheduled
Business Meeting and ask for the love offering all by themselves.
Should the individual be incapable of appearing before the
church, then the nearest family member may appear on his or her behalf.
Non-Member Mission Support (April 2013)
Canton Baptist Church does receive non-member requests for
mission support. You will need to contact the church office for a form,
which will be submitted to the Missions Committee for review. If a
recommendation for support is made by the Missions Committee, it will
be brought before a regular Business Meeting for approval.
All requests must be made at least three months prior to the date
of departure. Also, after the trip is completed you will be
expected to give a live presentation to the church, if you reside
within a reasonable driving distance. If you live too far away,
you will be allowed to submit a written report of your trip.
LifeWay Sunday School Curriculum (May 2013)
A new rule is taking effect, beginning in June 2013, that all
Sunday school teachers must use material published by
LifeWay Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
